Born in 1962 living in Arnhem the Netherlands in the neighborhood of the rivers IJssel and Rine,
my profession; painting artist but later years my work tend to be more digital as a freelance graphic designer also as cover designer of the Dutch occultation quaterly.
Lifelong interest in Astronomy and it started with the moonlanding in 1969, it was the middle of the night when my parents called me out of bed for the once in a life time event.
After that I visited a public observatory called Corona Borealis in the late 70’s and became a member in 1997.
Through the years the moon and planets were the great attractor for me and did a timeconsuming testing of several processing approaches of max. resolution of planet and moonimages under my mediocre and foggie skies, also love to read about telescopes. In 2005 I became the Dutch coördinator of the moon and planet group.
My recent interest are the domes on the moon and will try to capture it with the webcam in future
Other hobbies are mountainbiking (though no mountains present here) and sailing.
In 2003 starting with webcam imaging through the C8 of the observatory later through my own instrument a STF 7” Maksutov which I sold.
Present instrumentation:
C9,25 on a AS-GT mount
102 mm F5 achromat
11 x 80 mm binocular
Toucam pro
ASH dispersion corrector
And in short time (I hope) Canon EOS 350D and a monochrome ATIK
