My name is Raffaello Lena. I was born on 2 September 1959. My master degree was in synthesis and pharmacological properties of new molecules. Later I married and I have a wonderful daughter . My actual occupation is in the Rapid Alert system of food and feed.  I founded with Piergiovanni Salimbeni the GLR group. I have published lunar articles in JALPO, Selenology, JBAA, and other American and Italian journals.

My first interest is the study of lunar domes and their classification . Furthermore I studied TLP and lunar flashes. I work in combined projects also with ALS (American Lunar Society) where I am the coordinator for the ALS/GLR Lunar impact project. As such I have done research on spurious flash and methodology for lunar flash validation. I am interested in lunar volcanism and I am the ALS coordinator for the Nearside cone project and Farside dome project.

Our group communicates primarily through the internet, thus allowing tight coordination within projects.

I contribute articles for an monthly lunar focus on in an Italian magazine “L’Astronomia”.

I Like drawing at the eyepiece and recently I enjoy photography with a digicam, using an “old” refractor Polarex Unitron 10 cm f/15.

My interest is for music and nature, i have a my collection of rocks and minerals found during my trip (also in our italian volcanoes).
